Proverbs 21:22 “ One who is wise can go giant the city of the mighty and pull down the stronghold in which they trusts.”
I have been very disillusioned, disheartened, and even disgusted with what I have seen in the American political arena over these past several years. The rampant corruptions, lies, and sewing of hate and discontent against the fellow man is simply disturbing. This verse out of Proverbs gives me energy and hope that we can breakdown some of the strongholds that have led this country down this sinful road.
However, the verse is very clear on “who” can breakdown those strongholds…the WISE! One must become wise prior to such an effort, and I fear most of us are not. So how does one become wise? Begin reading the word and you will see a constant theme emerge “The Fear of the Lord is the path to wisdom” (JOB 28:28, Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 9:10 & 15:37…) We must fear the Lord to gain the wisdom we seek.
Growing up I loved my father, and I knew he loved me. I never wanted to disappoint my father, nor did I want to break one of his standards for fear of his wrath. This is a healthy revenant loving fear that provided bumpers down my path until I was old enough to understand why those bumpers were really there…the wisdom of a father.
Now, the founding fathers set up our Republic to serve the people, however the power dynamic has shifted where the government has been utilized for unhealthy actions towards its fellow man. In current practice, the government does not fear the people, the people fear the government. This dynamic swings the door wide open for corruption and no accountability.
BLUF- The government will not fear the people until the people fear the Lord!
Mike Mason “ The gaining of wisdom requires the total sacrifice of our single most precious possession; OURSELVES!”
Deny thyself, fear the Lord, obey the spirit, share the love of Christ…And wisdom will reign in your life! Then and only then will we be able to tear down the strongholds.
