Motivation is a Scam

If you search up motivation on social media, you will be inundated with a bunch of quote memes, fitness progress pics, and perfect looking people who all portray themselves to be better than you at something. Its a scam. It's often used to shame people into purchasing something that might result in short term success.

Motivation is actually defined as the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way. It's a noun not a verb.

I can't actually motivate you. Its an improper use of the word. I can't create who you are or why you act or behave a certain way with my words. I can plant a seed in your mind, but unless you are decisive in your actions and nurture that seed, it's a waste of time that usually makes you feel worse about yourself than you did before.

Discipline is actually a noun and a verb. It's a biblical principle that if applied daily, will lead to success.

1 Timothy 4: 7-8.

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

Don't waste your time looking for motivation. Instead, make a decision and act on it. Find your purpose and direction (your reason) and move forward. There is nothing I can do to make that happen. It's all on you.
